Meet Leia Owen:
Leia Owen is a marketing consultant, business strategist, community advocate, and entrepreneur based in Hudson, Massachusetts. As the founder of Leia Owen Marketing & Business Consulting, she works with businesses, nonprofits, schools, municipalities, chambers of commerce, community organizations, and entrepreneurs to help them strengthen their visibility, tell their stories, and build meaningful connections with the people they serve.
What began as a freelance side business in 2015 has grown into a full-time marketing consultancy serving hundreds of organizations throughout Massachusetts and beyond. Since transitioning to full-time entrepreneurship in late 2020, Leia has supported more than 300 businesses, nonprofits, educational institutions, events, and community initiatives through marketing strategy, social media management, content creation, branding, websites, email marketing, event promotion, consulting, training, and community engagement.
Her work focuses on helping organizations communicate more effectively while creating marketing systems that are practical, sustainable, and aligned with their goals. Known for her collaborative approach, Leia often serves as both a marketing professional and a trusted advisor, helping clients navigate challenges related to visibility, growth, communication, operations, events, partnerships, and community outreach.
Over the years, Leia has worked with organizations ranging from local startups and family-owned businesses to nonprofits, school districts, tourism initiatives, municipal organizations, chambers of commerce, cultural institutions, wellness practices, real estate professionals, and regional community events. Her projects have included social media strategy, website development, content creation, event marketing, sponsorship development, community engagement campaigns, email marketing programs, workshops, leadership initiatives, and long-term strategic planning.
In addition to her client work, Leia has developed a reputation as a connector and collaborator within the MetroWest business and nonprofit community. She is passionate about helping people build relationships, share resources, and find opportunities to work together. Rather than viewing other professionals as competitors, she actively collaborates with photographers, videographers, designers, developers, writers, consultants, nonprofit leaders, and community organizations to create stronger outcomes for clients and communities alike.
Community involvement has always been a central part of both her personal and professional life. Throughout her career, Leia has volunteered her time, served on boards and committees, supported fundraising efforts, mentored students, organized community events, and contributed marketing expertise to organizations working to improve the quality of life throughout the region.
She currently serves as President of the Hudson Business Association, where she helps support local businesses, networking opportunities, educational programs, and community events. She is also involved with the Hudson Cultural Council, serves as Vice President of the MetroWest Women's Network, contributes to the Marlborough Regional Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals Committee, and participates in numerous community initiatives throughout the year.
Additional volunteer and leadership involvement has included community festivals, educational programs, scholarship initiatives, economic development efforts, nonprofit fundraising events, local business advocacy, arts and cultural programming, and civic engagement projects. She is particularly passionate about supporting women-owned businesses, LGBTQIA+ individuals and organizations, minority-owned businesses, nonprofits, educational initiatives, youth programs, and mission-driven organizations working to create positive change.
Leia's work has been recognized through numerous awards and honors, including recognition from regional business organizations, community groups, and professional associations. She has been named to several leadership and emerging professional recognition programs and continues to be involved in initiatives focused on entrepreneurship, community leadership, and small business development.
In addition to consulting and client work, Leia regularly develops and hosts workshops, educational programs, networking opportunities, coworking sessions, mentorship initiatives, and business development programs designed to help entrepreneurs and organizations build skills, solve problems, and grow their impact. Programs such as Marketing Lab, Canva for Business, content creation workshops, and strategy sessions reflect her belief that education and collaboration are powerful tools for community and economic development.
At the heart of her work is a simple philosophy: marketing is ultimately about people. Whether she is helping a nonprofit raise awareness, supporting a local business, promoting a community event, mentoring a student, or developing a long-term strategy for an organization, her goal remains the same—to help people tell their stories, build meaningful relationships, and create positive impact.
When she isn't working with clients, volunteering, or planning community events, you'll likely find her exploring local businesses, attending networking events, supporting community organizations, photographing local happenings, organizing projects, reading, spending time outdoors, or accompanied by her beloved Aussiedoodle, Pablo.
